This site was of course born out of our experiences traveling Route 66 in the fall of 2002. But more than that, in putting these web pages together I wanted all of it including the graphics to have the look and feel of Route 66. The background on this page and all the others is a small section of orginal Route 66 concrete that I cut out of one of our photos. The blacktop road in the top graphic on all the pages is also cut from one of our photos of Route 66. The link signs along the left side of the pages are reminiscent of Burma Shave signs. The graphic at the top of the pages was assembled from several graphics. I created the road and the "Route 66 Memories" title, then I added the '57 Chevy, the 66 shield and merged them all together. All the graphics were put together with Paint Shop Pro 7.
